Our Story

This dog is responsible for our obsession with the pursuit of waterfowl and it's only fitting that his name is Chase. Raising him as a young man in college with the help of my closest friends and wife, has been one of my life's greatest pleasures. Greater than that was discovering that he and I both share a deep passion for waterfowl. Together we learned how to hunt ducks on public ground. Places where you couldn't just show up and expect to shoot a limit of birds. We worked hard, paid our dues, and slowly realized that our success was no longer measured by the number of birds we harvested, but in the way it was done.

I have always strived to uncover what it is that makes things and processes work. Some would call it tinkering, I suppose, and that's what I do. Taking that a step further and identifying ways to improve a material item or process, now that is my true essence.

Like many of you, I wanted to become a better hunter and gain a deeper understanding of the processes involved. It wasn't long before I found myself turning duck calls on a Craigslist wood lathe and modifying parts and pieces of motion decoys to gain some sort of advantage. Through this exercise I discovered that there is no greater reward than taking a duck call or a decoy or any other device that you made in your garage and using it in the field to be successful on a hunt.

That is why we are Chase Waterfowl. Because I know there are many others out there just like me, who have found that the passion is not just for the hunt, it's for all the steps you take to chase waterfowl.
